My name is Angeliki Gkliaou, and I am the founder of Stay With Me Care.

I am a Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association (Membership No. 22356) and I bring more than 20 years of experience in the aged care sector.

My professional journey began in nursing and aged care, where I supported residents and their families through some of the most emotionally challenging moments of life. Over time I realised that families often need more than clinical care — they need emotional guidance, understanding, and someone who can help them navigate the complex journey of dementia and transition into residential care.

This led me to pursue counselling and focus my work on supporting residents, families, and aged care teams through dementia, emotional transitions, grief, and complex family situations.

Throughout my work in aged care I have developed initiatives designed to support emotional well-being and communication within care environments. These include Happiness Matters™, a conversational engagement program for cognitively aware residents who may struggle with the transition into residential care, as well as family support groups for relatives of people living with dementia.

I also use the H.O.P.E. holistic assessment framework to better understand residents’ emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs, helping to create personalised well-being support plans and guiding conversations about meaning, coping, and end-of-life preferences.

In addition to working directly with residents and families, I support aged care organisations through family mediation, complaint resolution support, and the development of policies and procedures that help create smoother admission and transition processes for new residents.

I also speak Greek, which allows me to support Greek-speaking residents and families who may feel more comfortable communicating in their native language.

Through Stay With Me Care, my goal is simple:
to ensure that residents and families feel heard, supported, and guided through one of life’s most challenging journeys.
